Reach the Campus. Reach the City. Reach the World.

We are excited to announce that, beginning November 27 (the Sunday after Thanksgiving and the first Sunday in Advent), The Belief Experiment will move our weekly worship services to the Wesley Foundation at The University of Alabama. You can hear the full announcement as part of the sermon on September 18, where Pastor Wade shared what led to this decision. The short version, though, is that we believe God has called us to a unique opportunity for ministry that will allow us to reach the campus, reach the city, and reach the world. We are incredibly excited about this new chapter in the church’s history, and look forward to sharing more in the weeks to come.

We know, though, that with any change there are inevitably questions that arise. Some of those are answered below, and if you have a question that isn’t, or a fear or a dream about this new chapter, shoot us an email at

What does this mean for the church?

In short: it means we have an opportunity to reach nearly 40,000 18-25 year olds and university faculty and staff. It means that we will have a single, permanent location for both Sunday morning worship services and mid-week activities, both of which become significantly easier since we won’t have to set up a temporary space. And it means that we have an opportunity to play a critical role in the lives of students and non-students alike who, after their time in Tuscaloosa ends, will carry that influence into the rest of their lives.

Are we merging with Wesley?

No. The two organizations will remain structurally distinct, and the Sunday morning and Tuesday night worship services will have different styles. However, we look forward to a great deal of shared ministry, as is already occurring through things like Thursday Night Common Meal.

How can I help?

As we look ahead to our first service at Wesley, there will be a number of areas where you can help both with the move itself (things like moving our equipment from Glory Bound to Wesley), and on an ongoing basis by serving as part of one of our Sunday morning teams (especially our audio and video teams!).
